Kalutara
One of the beautiful beaches on the South West coast of Sri Lanka is situated in Kalutara, about 45 km South from Colombo. A unique feature of the beach is the fact that the Kalu River flows into the ocean in close proximity to the beach, making water sports like boating all the easier. The coconut palm fringes, the quaint vendors along the coast, and the relaxing ambiance truly make Kalutara Beach one you must not miss out on. Other things to see and do in the area include the giant Kalutara Bridge over Kalu River and the Kalutara Bodhiya, which has the largest hollow stupa in the world.
